Very old and crudely made brass chamberstick

Solid, heavy brass

Sharp, pointed petals and dots on the sconce

Finger hole and thumb rest

Plain leaf, dot, and acanthus leaf scrolling design; three symbols on each side at base

Unknown origin or year, estimating at early to mid 1800s, may be older

Chamberstick measures 3" high x 3.25" wide at thumbrest, 2.5" diameter base

Weighs 7.75 ozs

Condition:

Antique brass chamberstick in very good antique condition with wear commensurate with age. Appears to be very old and crudely crafted; finger hole and upper cup more crude, base is of finer decoration. There are a few small edge losses, but appear to be under the gold finish. Scratching made to bottom to identify brass. No other breaks or damage. Beautiful aged patina.
