This vintage metal military gas can is painted army green, complete with markings, stampings, and stencils which inform of it's manufacture and military unit.


  • Vintage Military Metal Gas Can Army Green 5-Gallon Gerry Can 1959 D BTRY 4-38
  • Metal 5-gallon gas can
  • Reverse-embossed large X and smaller US on both sides
  • White enamel painted liner inside
  • Stampings on top under handle (hard to see) - W (large block font), M (medium block font), 21460, 1959
  • Painted stencils on either side - white stencil C on one side; yellow stencil on other side - D BTRY 4-38
  • Circa 1959 or earlier
  • Gas can measures overall 13.75" wide x 6.75" deep x 18.5" high
  • Weighs 10.5 lbs
  • Vintage metal military gas can in good condition with wear and tear from age and use.  Surface rust and paint wear throughout; pocked enamel inside; bumps, dents, dings, and scratches throughout; no rust holes.  Gas can still intact and appears operable.  This vintage metal military gas can is painted army green, complete with markings, stampings, and stencils which inform of it's manufacture and military unit.
