Selling by the bag. Each bag weighs 1.5 pounds and contains from 55-65 whole nuts. We have at least 10 bags available.

Sometimes, walnut trees may produce nuts where the nut meat is sub-standard and appears shriveled or wrinkled or looks like it's dehydrated. This occurs when the walnut tree experiences stress or lack of water during the nut formation period, usually between the months of July thru September. That is what seems to have happened here. This batch of nuts all came from the same tree. (We harvest from our own tree and other family and friends' trees nearby.)
THESE NUTS ARE BEING SOLD AS "SQUIRREL NUTS." The nut meat is shriveled and wrinkled...but the squirrels don't seem to mind. They are also edible and may be used for baking, though the quality and quantity of the nut meat is sub-par.
People also like to use these nuts in natural crafts and taxidermy projects, even as fall and winter home decor.
